Notes

  • Poem preceded by note: 1998 is the Official Year of Return of Bosnian refugees to their homes. The process of ethnic cleansing resulted in great shifts of people from one region to another with the aim of creating ethnically pure cities and villages. The people of some regions were, upon expulsion, named 'ghosts' by the aggressors, as the graffiti over buildings is still witness to. Upon return to their homes many people found that exiles from other regions were living in their houses.
