AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'When American talk-show legend and host of 'Private Lives of the Stars' Harry Zilco arrives in Townsville to kick off the first leg of his Australian tour - only to discover that his syndicated show has been cancelled after ten years - he suffers career meltdown. He and his manager/wife Sonia are offered sanctuary in a boarding house run by Townsville local Joycie Pound and her Aboriginal family. Harry is transformed by the experience of the indigenous Australian cultural divide. He learns that happiness and wisdom are possible outside material and professional attainment, yet cannot help returning to America to capitalise on his new-found status as a channeler of a 40,000-year-old spirit from the Australian Dreamtime.'
