A Utopian science fiction novel that is an account of three years' residence in an imaginary submarine colony. It is possible that Samuel Butler may have influenced Dudgeon to write the novel. Written in response to Erewhon of the previous year.
Notes
Steampunk Note : This story functions as proto-steampunk in the manner of the scientific romances of Jules Verne, presenting a highly advanced technological society in the nineteenth century, using technological principles of the time.
