Fifty numbered and titled 'Notes' which trace the history of Australian science fiction, from its beginnings to the 1950s. Some notes are in the form of essays, others include biographical details, reviews, criticism and bibliographies. Many of the notes are reprinted, or revised from a column which appeared in Science Fiction News, edited by Stone.
