  • On the title page of the first edition are the words "The book of the famous play by John G Brandon and George Pickett". The play was first performed in London in 1927 and then turned into a novel by Brandon alone. There is no record of the play itself having been published although a 50pp. souvenir programme, published by the Eastern European fund, of a performance in Sydney on 11 September 1928 did appear.
