AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Biblionews, the newsletter of the Book Collectors' Society of Australia, was established in April 1947 and ran until March 1964 when the long-time editor Walter Stone travelled overseas. In January 1966, the newsletter was re-issued as the quarterly Biblionews and Australian Notes & Queries, again with Stone as editor. The second series continued to publish bibliographical articles on the publications of a variety of Australian writers, but ceased production in 1972 for four years. Since 1976 it has appeared uninterrupted, and has gradually increased in size and quality. Editorial changes occurred after the deaths of Stone in 1981 and his successor John Fletcher in 1992. Brian Taylor has been the editor of Biblionews and Australian Notes and Queries since 1992.
