AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A light comedy about the friendship formed between two women from very different backgrounds. It is concerned with two alcoholics, both women, whose plight has landed them in a hospital ward where they are fighting their addiction with medical concern, mostly good-natured abuse - and the odd drop of secreted gin. They are from two very different cultures - one is Irish, the other Aboriginal - and the only bond they have is a shared experience of what drink can do.

Notes

  • First produced by Black Swan Theatre, Perth at the Dolphin Theatre, for the Festival of Perth 1992. Directed by Andrew Ross. Subsequently toured to Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Darwin, country Western Australia centres and Melbourne.
