Between 1976 and 1988 Lamond lived and worked in the USA where she appeared in musicals and television shows. She debuted on the New York stage with Cabaret at the age of 67. Her US theatre credits include: Mame, Oliver, Cabaret, Annie, Hello Dolly!, Nunsense, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Sherlocks' Last Case and 42nd Street.
