BiographyHistory

Printer and compositor Edwyn H. Statham was the Government Printer in New South Wales from 1836 to 1841. He was also the publisher of the Sydney Monitor newspaper for a time (beginning in late 1835). In January 1836, Statham placed an advertisement in the Monitor announcing his availability for letterhead press commissions.

According to Hordern House's Sydney Printers before 1860 catalogue, Statham 'took pride in his work as printer and compositor, offering his services in producing books, pamphlets, bills, circulars, legal and other forms and deeds of apprenticeship'.
