Statham and Francis O'Brien introduce themselves as the new editors of the Sydney Monitor and Commercial Advertiser. The two men state that they have 'many years' experience in conducting "the Press"' and outline their plans for the newspaper's content. They intend to present 'the latest information respecting markets, shipping, and commercial affairs' and note that Hall will continue to write 'the political and agricultural articles'.
