Colin Campbell has worked as a journalist and spent time in Canberra working in the political arena. Productions of his plays, 'Grumblegrunt', 'Chuck and Sherry's South Pacific' and 'The Chapter on Frankenstein' have been staged in North Queensland. Campbell also sang and played saxophone with a number of Townsville bands and it was this experience which inspired him to write the novella, 'Hot Licks and Rim Shots'.
