Tracy Sorensen is an academic, journalist and filmmaker. She published her first novel, The Lucky Galah, in 2018: it was longlisted for the 2019 Miles Franklin Award (among other awards).
In September 2019, Sorensen was announced at the Judy Harris Writer in Residence at the Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney: the residency will be used for a second novel, based on Sorensen's experience of peritoneal cancer in 2014.
