Printer Henry Hussey, who was active in Adelaide from around 1849, joined in partnership with J. T. Shawyer, a printer who had worked for the Adelaide Register, in about 1854. They were joined by a third partner, David Gall, in 1855, becoming Hussey, Shawyer and Gall. The business became Hussey and Gall in the following year.
