'Dr Ross Watkins began teaching Creative Writing at the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2006. His award-winning short fiction and non-fiction has been published in national and international anthologies, in addition to being showcased at national writers' festivals. A First Class Honours in Communication (Writing and Contemporary Cultures) student from the University of Technology, Sydney, Dr Watkins' scholarly interests are diverse but primarily concerned with the aesthetic and poetic representations of culture and humanity in narrative.'
Dr Watkins has been an executive committee member of the Australasian Association of Writing Programs and short story editor for Social Alternatives.
