BiographyHistory

Founded in Melbourne in 1971 by Pat Woolley, who was joined in 1973 by two partners (Jenny Doyle and Rennie van Dinterin), Tomato Press published leaflets and occasional books, together with underground comic books and small magazines. When Pat Woolley moved to Sydney in 1972, she moved the press with her. Tomato Press published eight titles before it closed in late 1973 including three works by Pat Woolley, and Anne Summers's The Little Green Book: The Facts on Green Bans. Woolley subsequently founded Wild and Woolley with Michael Wilding, and participated in the establishment of Women's Redress Press.
