'Redfern Street, Redfern Sydney on a hot mid-autumn day is quiet. A few people wander the footpaths drifting in and out of fast food shops from noodles to pastries but on ship is unique and alluring - the Story Factory. There to greet me at the door is Cath Keenan Executive Director of Story Factory.' (Introduction)

'Steven Herrick is writer with a conscience. Much of his work deals with how society treats its ordinary people and how they show courage, resilience and strength in return. He chronicles his characters struggles to become better people and defeat the odds. He creates story in an immersive experience to engage, entertain and enlighten his audience. Herrick began writing as a poet but wanted to experiment with a longer form of narrative to develop a truly engaging story.' (Introduction)

— Appears in: Magpies : Talking About Books for Children , May vol. 28 no. 2 2013; (p. 4-6)

'Michael Pryor loves nothing more than to dress up in his steampunk fine coat, top hat and brass goggles. He is a true Edwardian steampunk man who has never lost the sense of amazement and awe in the way in which he views the world. His world, strictly speaking is contemporary Melbourne, where he lives with his wife Wendy and daughters, Celeste and Ruby. His imaginary world, however, moves through time and space with only a strict set of rules of Pryor's own making, as we'll see later in this article.' (Author's introduction 4)
