Patrick Allington grew up in South Australia, and was educated at The University of Adelaide, which awarded him a Masters in Politics and a PhD in Creative Writing.
He is a writer of short fiction and novels. His writing has appeared in
Meanjin,
Griffith Review,
The Big Issue,
Southerly and elsewhere.
As a book critic, Patrick's interests include fiction, current affairs, culture, biography
and history. His critical writings appear regularly in
Australian Book Review and
The Advertiser (Adelaide), and have appeared in
The Monthly,
The Weekend Australian and
elsewhere. Patrick was inaugural fiction editor of the Melbourne-based literary magazine,
Etchings.He is also a Member of the Australian Society of Authors, PEN, and the South Australian Writers' Centre.
