Described as a 'life-long Melburnian', Peter Minack established a career teaching high school English classes. While still in his thirties, Minack adjusted his schedule to teach part-time so that he could undertake a long-held ambition: he had always wanted to write a book. His first novel, C. W. G. (Campaigning with Grant), was published in 2000.
