Dr Robyn Arianrhod has worked in 'arts-based community programs in Victoria and New South Wales, and has taught mathematics in both alternative and mainstream educational programs'. She has taught at Monash University and Monash International College. 'Her mathematical research field is Einstein's theory of gravity, and she is also interested in the role of mathematics as a unifying universal language.'
Dr Arianrhod has published extensively on science and mathematics, including Einstein's Heroes: Imagining the World through the Language of Mathematics (UQP, 2003: subsequently republished several times); Seduced by Logic: Emilie du Châtelet, Mary Somerville and the Newtonian Revolution (UQP, 2011: subsequently republished); Young Einstein and the Story of E=mc2 (Kindle, 2014: subsequently republished); Thomas Harriot: A Life in Science (OUP, 2019); and Vector: A Surprising Story of Space, Time, and Mathematical Transformation (NewSouth, 2024).
Seduced by Logic was shortlisted for the 2012 Queensland Literary Awards in two categories - the History Book Award and the Science Book Award. It was also longlisted for the 2012 National Biography Award.
