BiographyHistory

Ward Stephens together with Frederick Michael Stokes and William McGarvie, formed a partnership to establish a general printing business in Sydney. The three also began publishing the Sydney Herald (later the Sydney Morning Herald). Ward Stephens and Frederick Michael Stokes continued to publish the Herald, as individual proprietors and together, until 1842. Ward Stephens also published other newspapers and magazines.
