BiographyHistory

Laura Elvery is a writer from Brisbane. She has won the Josephine Ulrick Literature Award, and has been shortlisted for the Overland Victoria University Short Story Prize for New and Emerging Writers. The winner of multiple awards (including the Neilma Sydney Prize and the Josephine Ulrick Prize), she holds a PhD in creative writing and literary studies.

In 2021, she was announced as the inaugural writer in residence for the Centre for Critical and Creative Writing at The University of Queensland.
