Melbourne-based writer Nic Low is 'a writer, installation artist, arts organiser and recovering graphic designer of Ngai Tahu Maori and European descent.'
Low's 'short fiction, essays and criticism have been published in Griffith Review, the Big Issue, Dumbo Feather, the Lifted Brow, Cordite, Art Monthly, Australian Book Review, the Press, the Sunday Star Times and various ... anthologies. He is a recipient of the 2011 GREW Prize for non-fiction, and received a 2011 ArtStart grant for his writing from the Australia Council for the Arts.'
Low is 'a former director of the National Young Writers' Festival, the founder of the Crack experimental theatre festival, [has] sat on the curatorial board of the Next Wave arts festival, and is an external assessor of public art commissions for the City of Melbourne. He was co-editor and designer of the Nomadology travel writing project, and worked as artistic director of the Future Cities Project for the Sustainable Living Foundation.
In 2012, Low was running 'the international writing program at the University of Melbourne's Asialink institute, developing tours, publishing projects and multi-arts collaborations across the Asian region'.
