BiographyHistory

Merle Jackomos was born to Maude Ross and Michael Morgan. She had four brothers and two sisters and they were all raised on Cummeragunja Aboriginal Reserve. In 1939, the Morgan family was part of the Walk-Off. Conditions on the Reserve were so harsh that many families left. The Morgan family crossed the Murray River to the live and find work on the other side. Merle Morgan married Alick Jackomos in 1951.

Jackomos was very active in commuinity programs.
