Brendan Doyle studied Latin, German and French as a school student. After furthering his study of French at the University of Sydney, Doyle taught English in Bordeaux and then completed a doctorate in Theatre Studies in Paris. Doyle has worked for SBS Television, providing sub-titles for French programs, and has also translated literature from French.
