AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Ex-State Premier, George Steeper, and his behind-the-scenes mover-and-shaker wife, Annie have a volatile personal relationship. This has led to their two sons fleeing the 'battle' zone to create their own lives. Joseph a young lawyer has an ambitious journalist girlfriend, Rosie, but she is also having an opportunistic affair with his father. The other son, Henry has been spoilt by his parents and as a result has given up his university studies to deal in hard drugs. His girlfriend wants more from him than he is prepared to give. Things come to a head when George and Annie attempt to win public and media approval so as to become leaders on an influential advisory committee. The play is mostly set in the comfortable home of George and Annie.
