Notes

  • Charles Dickens's novella The Cricket on the Hearth. A Fairy Tale of Home was adapted numerous times for the English stage during the nineteenth century. AustLit has not yet established which version was produced at the Princess's Theatre, Melbourne, in April 1868.
  • Cricket on the Hearth is included in AustLit because it was produced in Australian theatres during the colonial era.
