  • This stirring patriotic poem was originally published in the Sydney Daily Telegraph during the Boer War, and it appeared in a number of Australian newspapers at the time. During the early months of World War I, the poem was again widely published in the newspapers.

    The first publication details remain to be established.

    The following lines were written by the late W. T. Goodge at the time of the South

    African war, and appeared in the "Daily Telegraph." Although the conditions which inspired the author are not existing to-day, the spirit of the lines are appropriate at this juncture.
