  • Allardyce Nicoll in A History of English Drama 1660-1900 (1966) calls this piece a 'comedietta'. The advertisement for the performance at the Royal Victoria Theatre in Sydney, New South Wales, in June 1838 calls it a 'Musical Burletta'.
