'In the year 2010, a teenage girl called Urvi enters Year 11 at Kogan Girls Selective School. Her conservative Indian family force her to do highly academic subjects, but secretly, deep down Urvi just wants to act. Throughout the series, Urvi is torn between her family and following her dreams. She lies to her parents about dropping Specialist Maths and obsesses over a guy, 'Hot Ryan', who she meets at the school musical rehearsals, though boys are forbidden by her family. Meanwhile, Urvi’s younger sister Maya is accelerated and put on full scholarship at a posh rival private school: Heyington Girls Grammar. She finds creative ways to avoid being bullied by rich white girls, and begins to confront her queerness.'
