A column commenting on the 8 February 1868 evening recital, given by Miss Aitken and Mr T. P. Hill, at the Masonic Hall. Some of the items recited were: the 'Letter Scene' from William Shakespeare's Macbeth, Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Bells', and 'The Ruined Cottage' (probably William Wordsworth's poem of this name, although attributed to Letitia Elizabeth Landon by The Empire),
