The course introduces students to key issues and debates in the study of literature. Currently, the course examines the topic of gender and writing, with a focus on contemporary issues such as sexual difference, the body and sexuality, cultural difference and identity, and modernity and postmodernity. Students read literary works of special interest, and works of theory and criticism.
