Professor Gillian Whitlock is Professor in Literature in the School of Communication and Arts (formerly the School of English, Media Studies and Art History) at The University of Queensland. She currently holds an ARC Professorial Fellowship. She is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities.

Carmen Keates is a poet. She is currently working on her PhD thesis in Creative Writing at The University of Queensland.
