'Separation Blues: Poems 1994–2024 contains poems from nine of Nathanael O’Reilly’s published collections. The poems span three decades of composition, from poems written in Ballarat in 1994 to recent work composed in Texas and Ireland. The poems revisit an Australian childhood and adolescence in the 1970s and 80s, traverse a young adulthood spent in Australia, Europe and America, and arrive in the present with the middle-aged poet living in Texas and travelling frequently to Ireland and Australia (his homelands).'
