BiographyHistory

Guitarist for Johnny O'Keefe's band The Dee Jays. Lou Casch gave an interview to Peter Cox for an exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum in 1994: it was subsequently published as a long-form memoir-style essay in The Oral History Association of Australia Journal.

Born in Ambon and raised in Aceh and Jakarta, he arrived in Australia under the Colombo Plan to study medicine, and was introduced to Johnny O'Keefe when The Dee Jays formed in 1956.
