Author's note: Since time immemorial, every culture has had its myths and legends about those with extraordinary healing powers. In Greek mythology, for example, Asclepius, a pupil of the healer Chiron the Centaur, was said to have been able to raise the dead after drinking a potion made from the blood of a Gorgon. Through These Eyes I See' is loosely based on the Medusa myth, sharing its resonances, but reversing and distorting it. And, in a further twist, in this instance, the healing 'gift', while beneficial to the recipient, brings nothing but grief to the healer.
