'Paul Muldoon teaches political theory in the School of Social Sciences at Monash University. His research is broadly focused on the way societies come to terms with their past with a special interest in rituals of political transformation and the role played by the emotions in post-conflict settings. He has published widely on questions of historical injustice, reconciliation, political apology, and the politics of the emotions and is has worked on a book that examines practices of state penance for the wrongs of the past.'
