'The third meeting of the Aboriginal Arts Board was held in Darwin on 11,12 and 13 August. This afforded local groups an opportunity to meet members of the Board and discuss programs in the arts.' (Introduction)

    'Editorially: By the time this issue is received, the elections for the National Aboriginal Consultative Committee with have been held. The February issue will provide details of the results along with photographs of the successful candidates.

    'In the meantime, Aboriginal News wishes to congratulate all the personnel involved in the planning and the implementation of the many tasks necessary before this historic event could happen at all. Mr John Moriarty, the executive secretary of the NACC Interim Committee and his team at Canberra have achieved a great deal in a short term and no less an effort has been given by the people in the State and Territorial parts of the operation, co-ordinators and enrollers, polling clerks etc.' (Editorial)
