Notes

  • The Matilda Awards for Excellence in Drama were instigated in 1988 by a group of Brisbane and Gold Coast theatre critics, to recognize some of the very talented theatre workers in south-east Queensland. Five annual awards are made to five individuals who the judging panel feel have made the most outstanding contribution to theatre in Queensland throughout the year, and may include actors, stage or lighting designers, directors, translators and playwrights.

  • Indexed selectively: the Matilda Awards also includes awards for acting, stage and costume design, sound, and other categories of production.
