History

The University of Canberra National Short Story Competition included an open section and a tertiary section. The competition was supported by the University of Canberra, the UC Union, the Canberra Centre for Writing and Culture Studies, and the University Co-op Bookshop.

Notes

  • 'The University of Canberra National Short Story Competition, inaugurated in May 1992 by His Excellency the Governor-General of Australia, aims to encourage and reward excellence in the art of creative writing.

    'The competition is an initiative of the Creative Writing specialisation in the School of Creative Communication in the University's Division of Communication and Education.

    'The Competition is sponsored by the University of Canberra, University of Canberra Union , Monitor, The Co-op Bookshop, and Island Magazine. '
