Notes

  • Dedication: to George
  • Author's Introduction: This play was born from a legend of the Dreamtime. The central idea was an Aboriginal child who wanted to live and love in a world apart from his race. ...Although I feel strongly about the Aboriginal situation in Australia, this play was not meant to be a 'flag-waver', nor a problem play about colour. I prefer to think of it as a play about a universal problem - a person in a foreign environment....It has been performed in every state in Australia except the Northern Territory, and was broadcast by the Australian Broadcasting Commission in 1966....(p.3)
