'Didymous Drake resents the encroaching humans, but after a few encounters he retires to his lair in a cave on Dragon Tor.

'Denzil the dragon is the beloved pet of Dame Cooch - until he sets fire to her bed. Then he's out on his ear. Cooch's husband, the miller, suggests Denzil should go far, far away to find the dragon of Dragon Tor.

'Simpkins Smidgeon is the undersized and unwanted youngest in a family of rambunctuous brothers. In a bid to gain status, Simpkins decides to fight the dragon of Dragon Tor.
