A report in the
Argus on 15 January 1869, refers to the nearly-complete loss of sight of the
Landsborough Times's compositor. The
Argus quotes from a column in the
Times in which the proprietor, although not 'being brought up to the compositor's branch of the business', announces that he has taken over the role and confidently declares: 'a week or two of practice will make us more perfect' (
p. 5, column 5)
