A young English socialite travelling across Europe by train is disturbed by the disappearance of a fellow traveller (an English governess), particularly as no one else seems to have noticed the lady before she vanished.

A re-make of Alfred Hitchcock's 1938 film The Lady Vanishes and, like Hitchcock's version, based on the novel The Wheel Spins (1936) by British crime writer Ethel Lina White.
