  • The poem is about listening to a jazz concert in a cellar-bar in the Stare Miasto, the historic 'Old Town' of Warsaw. 'Dzien Zygmunta' [Sigismund's Day] refers to Kolumna Zygmunta [Sigismund's Column], a column and statue in the Stare Miasto commemorating the Polish historical figure of King Sigismund III Vasa.
