'[The newspaper] was issued gratis with a guaranteed circulation of 5000 per issue. Advertisements were paid for, but were inserted free of extra charge in The True Colonist and Murray's Review, with which the Advertiser was associated with in proprietorship' (J. Moore-Robinson, Chronological List of Tasmanian Newspapers from 1810 to 1933)

The advertisements were 'copied by: Murray's Review, on Tuesdays, and on Fridays in the: True Colonist, until Mar. 1839, and from Apr. 1839 to Sept. 1840 in: Hobart Town Advertiser~.' (Trove record)
