"Back in 1987 the Discovery Channel first aired a week of programming dedicated to raising awareness and to 'help the average person have a greater respect for sharks' (according to Wikipedia). In 2011 we think it’s time we did the same for poets, this is our attempt to extend a fraction of the respect we have for our aquatic brethren to our suburban writers." -- From the Editorial in Issue 1.
