  • Editor's note: 'In conjunction with L. A. Larkin's visit to the ACT Writers Centre in September, Canberra literary collective Scissors Paper Pen held a nanofiction competition themed 'Antarctica'. Submissions had to be no longer than 200 words, and the winning submission was awarded a place in Larkin's ACT Writers Centre thriller writing seminar. "Thunderstorm in Antarctica" was awarded this place.'
