A brief note 'To Our Readers' about the scarcity of paper stock was first published in the Sydney Chronicle (5 August 1846): 2. A further apology and explanation for the inferior quality of the paper used for the printing of the Sydney Chronicle is published in this column with the author 'expressing a wish that ... country subscribers were as punctual in their payments as they are ready with their complaints.'
