'The essay discusses the concept of truth in fiction, with particular focus given to the ways in which authors and readers conceive of truth and the potential of fictional "truth" to enhance life experience and understanding. Comments from authors including Peter Carey, Stephen Gray, and Nikki Gemmell regarding truth in fiction are presented, and the author's reflections on her attempts to create truth in her fiction are explored.'
