AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A column canvassing current literary news including the 'interesting evidence of a growing literary taste' in the colony of Victoria. This growth is evidenced by 'the demand for books of a high order of merit', 'the attendance of visitors at the Public Library', the use being made of the library collection at the University of Melbourne, and the fact that the 'Colonial Press has been very active of late'.
